Vandergriff's 2000 Monaco Blue NSX |
March 18, 2000
To: NSXCA-SOUTHCENTRAL@LISTSERV.NSX.NET
You may have heard of the fun that a few of us had a couple of weeks ago at Vandergriff Acura in Arlington with the 2000 Monaco blue demo car, and the "track" they have out back for all to use. Well, the dealership wants to do it again, and this time in a bigger way! They are inviting all club members, and all registered NSX owners in the DFW area to attend. This sounds like it will be a great time. Hope to see you there!

We awoke to a misty Saturday morning in Dallas. By the time we all met up at Vaughns, it turned into quite a rainstorm. Coffee & donuts in Vaughns garage was the order of the morning.
But, we still managed to take a few pictures of our favorite machines |
We caravanned out to the dealership, to find the red carpet already rolled out for us. They had removed all the cars in the front of the showroom, so that we could park there.
Although it was still only about 45 degrees outside, the bulk of the participants chose to socialize outside with the cars, as still more NSX owners rolled in to join the fun. |
A few other folks figured it would be much better to hang out right inside the showroom, where it was much more comfortable.
One thing that everyone could agree on was the BBQ lunch put on by Vandergriff! |
After lunch, it was off to the service area for the tech sessions covering preventative maintenance and service items.
The sun was coming out, and it was starting to get nice and warm outside.
So, naturally, after the tech sessions, we all drove down to the track behind the dealership for a little spirited driving. |
We use the word track loosely its actually an under-construction industrial subdivision with only one way in or out from the public road. All the dealerships in the area use it as a test-drive course.
Here is one from the Mazda dealership next door getting the heck out of the way!!! :) |
That $#&^ supercharged car is so fast, we couldnt get it all in the frame! ;-) |
Doug Carlson (shown here taking a picture of his 10-year-old spark plug removed at the tech session) was the winner of the Dali Racing cup holder. |
Many thanks to Mark Winstead of Vandergriff Acura in Arlington, TX for organizing this event, not to mention the great door prizes, including Acura CD-cases for all NSX owners in attendance!
Also, thanks to Mark Johnson of Dali Racing (maker of many custom NSX accessories and racing parts) for supplying T-Shirts and a Billet Aluminum cup holder as additional prizes! |
