NSXPO is the national NSX event of the year. This year’s event was certainly no exception. Acura sent out invitations to every registered NSX owner in the United States! There were quite a few owners in attendance who would otherwise never have heard of the NSX Club of America or its activities. Many participants choose to caravan in large groups from most all major U.S. cities, or fly and have their cars shipped in for the event! Below is a picture of the Southwest region’s (AZ & CA) caravan in here in Dallas on their way to Shreveport on the morning of Oct 18.

There are quite a few other NSXPO 2000 sites out there, many with day-by-day write-ups. Please email me (at nsx “at” 1017.org) your URL’s if you would like to be listed here:

Upon arrival at the hotel, it was immediately apparent where to park. Miled was running a complimentary car-wash service to the far right. We hung out in the parking lot until 2am talking shop and meeting people in person whom we had previously know only via e-mail.

The next morning broke cool and crisp. We took to the hills surrounding Daholenga, Helen, and Unicoi state park for some beautiful driving through the fall foliage.

The twisty mountain roads did get a bit tricky in places (remember to keep the tail planted through the corner – that means do not lift!!!)

Some unsavory characters at the Friday night welcome dinner :)

Saturday was all seminars, technical demonstrations, and vendor displays.

Mark Basch brought an entire NSX 5-speed transmission and taught us all everything we ever wanted to know about how it and the clutch system work. Prior to this seminar, I thought a “syncro” was a mysterious little creature that lived in your transmission and was best not taunted!

Sunday afternoon was the big lunch, get together, and concours at the Stone Mountain Inn.
