We all met at my house in the early afternoon, was a Hell of a sight to see 10 NSX's, a Carrera cabriolet, and a sparkling black 355...sweeet! I am sure my neighbors not only think I am certified insane, but I am a crack dealer as well...Special thanks to Jim West, John and Kimberly Hanks, Robert Chen and Robert Bates for making the arduous trip. Special Special thanks to Steven Crofts for taking time out from his family to bring the 355 out for our drooling pleasures....what a machine!!!!
Once we all showed, Brent Cobb led us on a backstreet trip to TMS,Expecting some open roads, we hit the all too familiar Dallas metro traffic...damn. Kudos to Brent for a well-planned route!
We arrived at TMS, and organization was low, but as we made our way into The infield, spirits rose as two NASCAR's raced around TMS...cool. After waiting over an hour, we finally made it to the track, the traffic director told us to stay on the pace cars butt, and he will go faster, I let Brent take lead so he could exercise the NOS...so we drove as close to the pace car as possible, then the pace car tapped the brakes! What the hell is this ????
Brent and I did not get over 70mph... but several of the other members made it close 120mph by slowing down and then racing to catch up to Brent and I, as we contemplated passing the pace car.... I also had a chance to weigh my car, I was very interested in this, mine came in at 2925 with a half a tank of gas spare tire etc....I have corner weights as well, but I will do a write up on this later....
I made reservations at Canyons Cafe off of the Dallas Parkway for Dinner, and 18 of us hauled a$$ out of TMS back towards Dallas. I made arrangements for the Valet to take care of our cars as we parked them in an isolated corner, secluded, but very much in sight!
Dinner was a riot, as well as fantastic, Robert Bates lost his voice, so it was easy pickings ripping on him, his only retorts were selective hand gestures!
After dinner we went to Starbucks (of course) for after dinner coffee, which ended up being ego boosters for all of us, as the parking lot was a haven for highschoolers driving their parents BMW's and Audi's....Then back to the house to watch Happy Gilmore on DVD as our black lab puppy "Romy" showed personal attention to all.
Overall, it was a great event, we had a blast, and we had a chance to meet many new members, and make new friends...I look forward to the next event!!!
Thanks for everyone’s participation; Krista and I enjoyed everyone’s company!
